Sponsored by the Associated Students of Citrus College, the Campus Center was filled with pirate themed events from April 2 through April 6.
Students were able to play casino games, watch a pirate performer swallow fire, jump in a ship-shaped moon bounce, eat In'N'Out burgers, see belly dancers, learn how to salsa dance and listen to students read their own poetry-all for free.
Springfest kicked off Monday with Casino Day, which allowed students to gamble away $500 worth of chips. Participants were given the chance to win several prizes, including Knotts Berry Farm tickets.
"Gambling was a lot of fun," said 19-year-old student Andrew Garcia. "I enjoyed the atmosphere and realness of the gambling, but I could have done without the belly dancing." Tuesday's events had students filling the student center once again to hear comedian Frank Lucero.
Wednesday events included decorating contests, a lip-sync talent show, fire shows, and free burgers.
"All the hard work ASCC put in for Springfest really paid off on Wednesday," said ASCC senator Diana Rodriguez."I was really happy with the turnout."
After salsa dancing and the poetry jam, the week closed with several showings of Johnny Depp's "The Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."
